Teach us to put into action our better impulses, straightforward and unafraid. Grant that we may realize it is the little things of life that create differences and that in the big things of life we are one. O Lord God, let us not forget to be kind!

Grant us your freedom, providing your protection, and empowering us with your strength. We ask that you bring about an awakening of your presence to America as never seen before. We ask that your Name be proclaimed, that all plans to silence the Name of Jesus would be crushed.

We pray that many would come to know you as Lord and Savior, and we pray that many would see your Light, that you would open their blind eyes.

    Amen

Tuesday in the 5th Week of Easter

May is dedicated to Our Blessed Mother

Be Still and Know that I am God

    Dear Lord,

We need to be still. We are praying for stillness in this noisy world. Today is a day created for taking time to focus on You, to quit moving about and for us to be still. Stillness, as opposed to being scattered and all over the place.

We are living in precarious times. Very little has gone untouched by the global pandemic. But there are things that remain sure. Chaos and uncertainty are pressing in around us, but there is one whose presence brings peace. Let’s push against the tendency to constantly distract or immediately solve problems. Let’s stop, pray, read, and reflect. Let’s be still and know that He is God.

    Amen.

We want to abide in you and rest in you and remain in you. Help us Jesus we pray.

Today, we will stop for a moment to count all our blessings. We put aside our questions and problems. We will name all our blessings one by one. Thank you, God for what you already have done. God will change our hearts and give us a new attitude and perspective. We thank you for all our blessings. We praise you and worship you.

Sunday in the Fourth Week of Easter

April is dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament & Holy Spirit

    Good Shepherd Sunday
    Vocation Sunday

    Dear Lord,

On this Good Shepherd Sunday, we give thanks to you, because in you we will never perish! No one will snatch us from your hand. Today we pray for an increase in the Shepherds in our Church. May Jesus the Good Shepherd raise up many shepherds after his own heart. To lay down their lives and carry his sheep on their shoulders.

Father Ed raised the question, “Is what I am spending my energies on every day my real vocation? God is calling every single one of us to work for the Gospel. For a small number it may be as a priest or religious – and that call can come at any time in our lives.” There are many ways we can serve the Church through our CDA activities.

“Let us pray that we all respond to the call given to us.”

    Amen.

We’ve struggled through for so long, it’s hard to see light at the end of the tunnel anymore. Would you please give us a glimpse of your goodness again, reminding us that you have never left us and that you have promised to see us through. Thank you for your faithfulness Lord. Forgive us for not trusting you, and not focusing on what we know to be true from your word. Breathe your joy and peace into our lives again, cover us in the shadow of your wings, shine the light of your truth over us.

    Holy Saturday

April is dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament & Holy Spirit

    Holy Saturday Prayer

    Dear God,

On the Sabbath, Jesus rested. He was in the grave. He had finished his work. To most people’s eyes, it looked as if it were all over. He was dead and buried. Only as a seed dies when it is planted in the earth, not to decay, but to spring to new life. Teach us to take refuge in you when we are afraid. Teach us that death is not our end. Teach us to hope always in you and in the resurrection, the making of all things new. We pray through Jesus Christ our Lord,

    Amen.

    April 2, 2021

    Good Friday

April is dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament & Holy Spirit

    Good Friday Prayer

    Dear God,

Jesus cried out to you on the cross, “Why have you forsaken me?” You seemed so far from his cry and from his distress. Those who stood at the foot of the cross wondered where you were, as they saw Jesus mocked and shamed and killed. Where were you then? We, too, ask where you are, when there is trouble and suffering and death, and we cry out to you for help. Be near to us, and save us so that we may praise you for your deliverance. We wait, on Good Friday, for the resurrection of Sunday. Sometimes our lives seem like a succession of Fridays and we cannot see what is “Good.” Teach us to call your name as Jesus did. Help us to trust in you like little children. In Jesus’ name,

    Amen.

    Holy Thursday

April is dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament & Holy Spirit

    Holy Thursday (Maundy Thursday) Prayer

    Dear God,

You sent your Son into the world, and before his hour had come, He washed his disciples’ feet. You had given all things into his hands. He had come from you, and was going to you. What did he do? He knelt on the floor, and washed his friends’ feet. He was their teacher and their Lord, and yet he washed their feet. Help us learn from his example. Help us to do as he has done for us. The world will know we are his disciples If we love one another. Strengthen our hands and our wills for love and for service. Keep before our eyes the image of your Son, who, being God, became a Servant for our sake. All glory be to him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

    Amen.

    Wednesday in Holy Week

March is dedicated to Saint Joseph

Spy Wednesday - Holy Week Prayer

Could you not watch one hour with me?

    Dear God,

We thank You for Your Word of truth and the lessons you teach us each day. We understand that in our own strength we would soon fall into a slumber, like the disciples, because our hearts are heavy with all that is going on in the world. Yet we praise and thank You that in Your strength and with Your sufficient grace, we know that we can face the future, for You are with us to uphold us with Your righteous hand. Give us Your strength we pray, to faithfully keep watch with our Lord Jesus in His continuous ministry of intercession. Lord, you are always faithful. We stumble, we become lost, but you are steady and sure. Give us the grace to endure our troubles, and reveal to us the glory of your kingdom, through your son, Jesus Christ.

    Amen.

Lord, we cling to You and feel Your strength and mighty power as it infiltrates our mind, body, and soul. We will emerge victorious from completing this Lent. May we love you and continue to walk in the way Jesus taught us, so that we may enjoy the Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

    Monday in Holy Week

March is dedicated to Saint Joseph

    Monday - Holy Week Prayer

    Dear God,

Six days before his death, your son sat with Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. He ate dinner with his friends.

Once again, your gospel tells us, Martha served, while Mary knelt at Jesus’ feet to anoint them with costly perfume. The disciple was about to betray him.

Often, we cannot discern what is best for us. When to be busy serving or when to be praying. We ask you to give us ears to hear you and eyes to see for the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ.

    Amen.

Hosanna to the Son of God

    Palm Sunday

    Dear God,

We give you thanks, for you are good, and your mercy is endless. Here we stand, at the start of this holy week. This is the week in which we remember Jesus’ passion and death. We are distracted by many things. Turn our eyes to the One who comes in your name. The one who opens the gates of righteousness. The one who answers us when we call. We bless you, Lord, for shining your light upon us, and for sending your son to us, in human frailty. Open our eyes that we may see him coming,

May we praise him with a pure heart. May we walk in the way of his suffering,

May we share also in his resurrection. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.

    Amen.

O faithful Virgin, make us in all things so perfect a disciple, and imitator of the Incarnate Wisdom, Jesus Christ your Son, so that we may attain, His glory in Heaven.

    “COMMITMENT”

    Dear Lord,

Our prayer of COMMITMENT is giving our problems to You. It means COMMITTING all things to You, releasing the pressures and the problems of life and letting You work everything out. If we will learn to COMMIT our stresses and situations to You, we will enjoy our lives more - we will be happier and more relaxed.

Lord, please be the center of our lives. We welcome you personally as Lord and Savior of our lives. We ask you, Holy Spirit, to fill us and empower us to live as children of God. We want to have your grace so that we may truly live a new life. Thank you for hearing our prayer through Christ our Lord.

Be Our Way, Our Truth, Our Life

    Lord Jesus,

Help us now, at this time of Lent, to accompany you. If we have grown soft, cushioning our lives with excuses, expose us to the toughness of your way. If we have grown lazy, cushioning our minds with easy, thin thoughts, expose us to the rigor of your truth. If we have grown comfortable, cushioning our living with satisfaction and success, expose us to the challenge of your life. As we walk, God, be our way. As we learn, God, be our truth. As we grow God, be our life. We pray in Jesus’ name.

    Amen

Laetare Sunday – Sunday of Joy

    Theme of Hope and Rejoicing

    Dear Lord,

Traditionally, this Sunday is called Laetare Sunday, which means ‘a day for joy’. Lent is half over, and the celebration of the death and the resurrection of Jesus is nearer, at this midpoint of Lent.

Lord, help us to share the joy of knowing Jesus with all those who you place in our paths. We pray that throughout the world there may be many Catholics today who are saved by your grace through faith in Jesus, so that they too may experience the joy. This joy is freely available to all who believe in the gospel of grace. In Jesus' name, we pray.

    Amen.

    Tolerance

    Dear Lord,

Lord, give us tolerance towards those whose thoughts and ways, in the program and life, conflict with ours. Although we would, we cannot always know what constitutes the absolute truth. The other person may be right, while we may be all wrong, yet unaware. Life is full of stones that somehow trip us, and yet, we stumble now and then. Lord, give us tolerance, for only you are rightly fit to judge others.

    Amen.

Third Sunday in the Lenten Season

March is dedicated to Saint Joseph

Focus on the Lord for Everlasting Life

    Dear Lord,

The readings for this Sunday of Lent help us to understand that we must follow God’s commandments and truly live them in our hearts to find life. The first reading God gives us the ten commandments. While the psalm says, “Lord, you have the words of everlasting life.” In the second reading we are reminded that God’s wisdom is not like human wisdom. The gospel tells us of Jesus cleansing the temple of the money changers who put their own desires above serving the Father.

Lord, help us to keep our focus on you so that we may follow your commandments and enjoy everlasting life.

    Amen.

“Lord, you have heard the words of everlasting life.” Psalm 19

Tuesday in the Third Week of the Lenten Season

March is dedicated to Saint Joseph

Prayer to Bear One Another’s Burdens

We carry another's burdens when we humbly walk alongside of them and support them wherever they are in their walk with God. We must remember that God is the one who will help them. It isn't up to us to alleviate their suffering. Carrying another's burden does not mean to take away their pain. It simply means to hold them up and point them to Christ. However, we can help them by praying for them. Knowing that you are praying for them will certainly ease their pain.

Heavenly Father, help us to bear one another’s burden with mercy and with joy, bringing them closer to Christ.

    Amen.

Teach us how-to put-on humility, gentleness and compassion every day, so we can become more like Christ and the desires of our hearts will be more of a fragrant sacrifice to you, almighty God.

    Amen.

Tuesday in the Second Week in the Lenten Season

February is dedicated to the Holy Family - Jesus, Mary & Joseph

    Almsgiving

    Dear Lord,

During Lent, we are asked to focus more intently on "almsgiving," which means donating money or goods to the poor and performing other acts of charity. As one of the three pillars of Lenten practice, almsgiving is a witness to fraternal charity and a work of justice pleasing to God.

Almsgiving involves giving to others as an act of virtue, either materially or in the sense of providing time caring for others in need. Sometimes all we can give is a smile, but sometimes that is the greatest sacrifice, the greatest prayer, and indeed the most generous and most sacrificial alms. Let us be generous in caring for others.

    Amen.

Monday in the Second Week in the Lenten Season

February is dedicated to the Holy Family - Jesus, Mary & Joseph

    Sacrifice

    Dear God,

May your Spirit move our hearts to see in your outstretched arms, and your loving embrace of everyone that we, too, may welcome others with the same love and our open arms. Teach our minds and direct our wills to humbly endure the pain of undeserved suffering even when our intent was good and done what is right. May we understand that it is in the holy sacrifice of your wounds that our brokenness will be healed. May we see in your sacrifice on the cross not only death and defeat but victory and life. Loving Father, may the holy sacrifice of your Son cleanse our souls, strengthen our hearts, pardon our past and restore us in your peace.

    Amen.

The First Sunday in the Lenten Season

    February is dedicated to the
    Holy Family -
    Jesus, Mary & Joseph

Repent and Believe in the Gospel

    Dear Lord,

Help us to conquer our temptations as Jesus did, using the same methods Jesus employed. Jesus conquered his tempter, the devil by prayer, penance, and timely use of the word of God. During this Lent, help us confront our evil tendencies by talking to God, by listening to Him speaking to us though the Holy Bible, and by practicing self-control to subdue our evil tendencies. Let us convert Lent into a time for spiritual growth and Christian maturity by: participating in the Mass each day, or at least a few days during the week; setting aside some part of our day for personal prayer; reading some Scripture. Let us go through Lent seeking the assistance and anointing of the Holy Spirit.

    Amen.

    February 20, 2021

Saturday in the first week of the Lenten Season

February is dedicated to the Holy Family - Jesus, Mary & Joseph

    Prayer for Strength

    Dear Lord,

We need your strength during this first week of Lent and every day. Of ourselves, we can do nothing, but we can do all things only through Jesus Christ, who will strengthen us. We do need this strength almost every day, especially the older we get. You can uphold us by your righteous right hand, and only by your Spirit can we endure. When our own strength fails, yours takes over, and we thank you for having access to you through Jesus Christ, in whose precious name, we pray.

    Amen.

    February 19, 2021

Friday in the first week of the Lenten Season

February is dedicated to the Holy Family - Jesus, Mary & Joseph

    Prayer - Lenten Practice

    Dear Lord,

If we want to really live a fruitful Lent, to die to our own passions, the key to victory is immersing ourselves in deep, intense, fervent, and constant prayer.

One form of prayer, highly recommended by Saint Ignatius of Loyola in the Spiritual Exercises, is that of Contemplation. Therefore, during Lent, it’s good to spend at least some time in front of an image, painting, depiction of Jesus hanging on the cross for love of you and me.

Call to mind the words of Saint Ignatius: Jesus died for all of humanity. However, He also died for you. If you were the only person in the world, Jesus would have suffered the most bitter and agonizing pains of His Passion and death for love of you and the salvation of your immortal soul. How precious you are in the eyes of God and of how valuable your immortal soul!

    Amen

    LENT

    Dear Lord,

May we see your goodness and your glory in new ways throughout this season of Lent. May we know the depths of your love for us more fully. May we feel the pain you endured for our sake, Jesus, and may we rejoice that you conquered every bit of evil when you rose to life again.

Draw us closer to your heart, that we might know you better and understand you more completely. We pray that we would not only give things up for Lent, but that we would give you glory through Lent, Lord. May our actions reflect our hearts, and may we worship you through all that we say and do throughout the 40 Days of Lent.

    Amen.

Thank you, Lord, Easter will be coming at the end of the 40 Days! Death has no sting, no victory, because of Jesus! Glory and honor and praise to His name! Thank you for rescuing us. Feast of Saint Valentine

    Love & Compassion

    Dear Lord,

We pray that we may love others with a Christ-like love, and that we may show compassion to others. Lord, we know that we need Your love and Your compassion. Thank you for showing us how to love when you healed the leper in today’s gospel. Lord, change our hearts to hearts that love as You love us. Change our attitude so that we may look with compassion on all people that we deal with each day. Help us to view them as You do with love.

On this St Valentine’s Day, may we express our love not only in words but in actions.

    Love Rejoices in the Truth

    Dear Lord,

It is essential that we always seek and rejoice in the truth, and that we do not embrace or delight in evil. The best way to do this is to have a healthy and devotional prayer life.

Even though we find joy in many things, help us to know that real joy comes from the truth. Be with us and help us discern what things are fleeting, and what things are truthful. Allow us to focus our time and energy on the things that are loving and truthful.

    Amen.

    Love is Slow to Anger

    Dear Lord,

Thank you that your mercies are renewed for us every morning. We definitely need it. Lord, we pray for our hearts and others who are quick to become angry. Sometimes we get irritated, annoyed, or frustrated so easily and then we let out our anger. Instead, we should slow down and allow your Holy Spirit to calm us and speak to us. We want to be women who have control over our tempers and thoughts so that we could love everyone better. Give us your understanding Lord.

    “Love is Patient”

    Dear Lord,

“Love is patient,” is easy to remember and can help to guide us when we are not feeling like we are able to love. We can show patience rather than irritability and kindness rather than rudeness. To help each of us come closer to doing what we know and not turning our backs on relationships that matter, we need to pray consistently

Paul writes that “Love is Patient,” he urges us to adopt a love that is purposeful, persistent, and perspective-driven. Patient love is persistent love.

If we ask God to help us make prayer more of a priority in our lives He will respond and say, yes. Lord, please increase our desire and our opportunities to spend time with you. In Jesus’ name,

    Amen.

Sunday in the Fourth week of Ordinary Time

January is dedicated to the Holy Name of Jesus

“If today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts.” Psalm 95

    Heavenly Father,

The message of today’s Responsorial Psalm – “If today you hear God’s voice, harden not your hearts” – indicates that God speaks to us far more than we realize. God wants to communicate with us directly and often. But we can “harden our hearts” through fear, disbelief, or over preoccupation with life’s issues.

God can speak to us anywhere. Be open and listen to His voice for us. “Harden not your hearts.” So, think about this: If you heard Jesus speak to you personally, what would you do? Something to think about during your prayer time this week.

    Amen.

    Committed to Prayer

    Heavenly Father,

We must remember that prayer is a wonderful privilege that God has given us. We have His invitation—and command—to pray and to seek Him!

Through prayer, we can change the world, influence the lives of our friends and family, and bring revival to our own lives. This starts after you’ve surrendered yourself to God and dedicated yourself to a life of prayer. You have that opportunity, right now. Make prayer a priority.

    Amen.

How to be Consistent in Prayer

    Heavenly Father,

Growth in prayer is about consistency. Whether in savings, health or relationships. The same is true of prayer. The depth of our relationship with God is as much dependent on consistency as any other factor. The big question is, if we develop the consistency will we lose the spontaneity?
We must remember that developing a routine does not substitute the substance. The regularity of our routines frees up our hearts and minds to be spontaneous and intimate with God because it takes the effort out of decision-making. Once we have decided we are going to pray at a certain time in a certain place we are not thinking about the decision. We are set free to focus on God.

    Amen.

    Last day of the year

    Resolutions

    Dear Father in Heaven,

We all love resolutions because no matter where we are in our lives, there is always room for improvement. We could all be eating a little better, exercising a bit more, and dedicating more of our time to the Lord. The final week of 2020 can be a time of reflection as we look back on the past twelve months and think about what the Lord has planned for us in 2021.
The best way to kick off the New Year, on the right foot is with prayer. No matter what your day holds, spending time in prayer will energize and comfort you through whatever comes.
Don’t worry about making a long list of resolutions but make time for prayer, knowing that with God, we can do all things.

    Amen.

    Happy and Holy New Year.

    Be Prepared

    Dear Lord,

There is incredible power and potential in prayer. Through prayer, we invite the Lord into a situation and into our lives. Prayer changes things, but even more, prayer changes us. Through prayer, we have the opportunity to reach our full potential in Christ. The disciples said to Jesus, “Lord, teach us to pray.” As we grow in our prayer life, we become more alive and more engaged with what God is doing. None of us are perfect at prayer, but as we take steps to grow spiritually in our prayer life, the impact is incredible. God will move mountains and God will transform us into people of love, joy, and peace through prayer. Let’s become people of prayer and we will be prepared.

    Amen.

A Blessed Christmas & Happy and Holy New Year.

    Prayer for Enlightenment

    Dear Lord,

Show us your ways, point out to us your paths. Bestow on us, O Lord, our God, understanding to know you, diligence to seek you, wisdom to find you, a life and conversation which may please you, perseverance in waiting patiently for you, and a hope which may embrace you at the end. Grant us to be pierced with compunction by your sorrows through true repentance, to improve all the gifts and benefits during this our pilgrimage, through your grace, and so at last to enter into the fullness of joy in your glory.

    Amen.

A Blessed Christmas & Happy and Holy New Year.

    Hope

    Heavenly Father,

We are your humble servants, we come before you today in need of hope. There are times when we feel helpless, there are times when we feel weak. We pray for hope. We need hope for a better future. We need hope for a better life. We need hope for love and kindness. Some say that the sky is at its darkest just before the light. We pray that this is true, for all seems dark. We need your light, Lord, in every way. We pray to be filled with your light from head to toe. To bask in your glory. To know that all is right in the world, as you have planned, and as you want it to be. Help us to walk in your light, and live our lives in faith, hope and glory. In your name, we pray,

    Amen

    Salvation

    Dear Lord,

Our prayer for salvation begins with our Faith in God.  When we pray for salvation, we're letting God know we believe His Word is true. By the faith He has given us, we choose to believe in Him. The Bible tells us that "without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him".

Lord, we know that there is nothing that we could do to merit our salvation or to gain your forgiveness. Thank you, that you have offered us the free gift of salvation, simply by trusting in the Lord Jesus as our Savior.

    Amen.

    Christmas Prayer

    Compassion

    Dear Lord,

Please open our eyes. Please let us see those around us that are in need of our compassion. Compel us to listen to them, to hear their needs. Give us the heart to be interested in their troubles and provide for us the means to help them.

We want to be compassionate. We want to be like you who had so much compassion for the world that you sacrificed your Son on a cross for us. We want to have that kind of heart for the world that we will do all we can to be a voice for the oppressed, a giver to the poor, and encouragement for the disabled.  Give us the confidence in our actions so that we can give back.  Use us as a vessel of compassion to a world in need.

    Amen.

    O most Holy Virgin,

You are immaculate in body and spirit, look kindly on us as we implore your powerful intercession. Immaculate Virgin, Mother of Mercy, Healer of the Sick, Comforter of the Afflicted, you know our wants, our troubles, our sufferings. Look upon with mercy.

O most Holy Mother, receive our prayers as we present them to God.

O Mary, Mother of Jesus and our Mother, please intercede for us with your Son.

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

    Love

    Dear Lord,

We pray that the Lord, who makes and puts Love in our hearts, will increase it so that it will overflow to each of us and to everyone else!  This world desperately needs God’s love!  Love comes from God because God is love and we need His love overflowing in our lives.  It is only because of God that we are able to love at all!  Without God, we don’t even know what love is and we don’t know how to love.

We pray that we may be united in spirit and in purpose, and that we do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but rather with humility of mind regarding the needs of the others as more important than our own. This we ask in the name of Jesus, who died for us all.

    Amen.

    Christmas Prayer
Come O Lord, Jesus do not delay.
Come into my heart the Christmas Day.

O Lord, may we be prepared for you. May we be ready to receive every gift you have for us. May we be available when you want to work through us. Let nothing stand in the way of your presence in our lives.

    Amen.
